    Amazing for BF2?

Hey guys... im planning to get a 7800 GT Fac. OC by BFG
(425/1050) Was wondering if it is enough to run BF2 comeplteyelty full settings.. I have 1 gig of ram a amd 3500 and 420 psu

People say you need 1.5-2 gigs of ram... Several places have proved this wrong...

I called a local computer store, I asked the one woh answered the phone if he played BF2... he replied yes, I asked, do you need more than 1 gig of ram to run bf2 on high with a 7800? he replied "ABSOLUTELY NOT"

On a server I played on today, this person said he had a 7800 GT, he said yes..

He has a 350 PSU amd 3400 1 gig of ram, he said bf2 runs amazing all high he said repeatedly you do not need 1.5-2 gig of memory..

My question is... do I need higher than 1 gig of ram to play bf2 on allhigh with NO stutters at all with the 7800 GT OC

get an X1800XL it runs BF2 better then the 7800 GT, and no stutters at all you DO need more than 1 gig, i have 1 gig and it stutters for the first 30 seconds or so and then its fine, but to be completely stutter free you need 1.5gigs+

Why pay more for a x1800XL when a 7800GT can be overclocked to come very close to it and the 7800 is almost $200 cheaper? With 2GB of ram the 7800gt will run BF2 all high with 4x AA with room to spare.

The textures require over 1GB of RAM to run (depending upon background processes).

200 dollars cheaper... try 20 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814142053 also the XL can OC to be as fast an XT which beats a 7800 GTX

by 11 points with 300 mhz more CPU... safe to say I'd beat you with the same cpu speed.

no bf2 uses about a gig, so unless you're running a ton of background tasks they will be about the same

What is the Amperage rating on the +12v rail of your PSU.

I wouldn't personaly buy a GTX off ebay, but I'm a hardware diva, I'm sure lots of people do without any problems. Just make sure the seller has good feedback.

well, get a better PSU than 350watts first of all -_-. Then, with a gig of ram and a 7800gt you should be good. It will stutter every now and then, but for the most part (if you arent running a million other processes) it should be good. But a ram upgrade for the future should be planned on. 7800gt = good good card!

Get a better psu, at least another 512mb of ram, and a 7800gt, you won't be sorry.
