I've got a problem with my Asus Extreme N7800GT Dual. It works fine running in single GPU mode, but when I turn on SLI, I can play BF2 for about 10-15 mins before my screen goes black, and I hear the last sounds in game looping, followed by high pitched beeps.. Usually it keeps doing this until I shut it down, but occasionally it will reboot itself. It will also crash like this when I blow up C4 in my face, or get directly hit with artillery.
In single GPU mode I can play all day, and it works perfectly. But when I enable SLI it gives me a 40fps gain, and greatly smoothes everything out with the extra 256mb of ram. I constantly watch temps, and the GPU's never gets above 65c so it should not be related to heat. I water cool my CPU, so it stays under 40c wile playing, and the Mobo is usually 45c wile playing.
I constantly use the ASUS SmartDoctor program, so I can monitor temps, and power wile I am playing. It is worth noting that when I start BF2, the Vcore goes to 1.52v, where it gives me a message like "VGA chipset is not supplied with stabilized voltage. Please contact ASUS for help." whatever that means. I am using the supplied AC adapter with it which plugs into the wall, and goes into the GPU through the back, so it should not be a power issue.
As I've said, I am at my wits end with it. I've updated my BIOS [v1011], also the Chipset [v6.70], and lastly the Graphics [v82.12]. All my system specs are listed below, I should also mention that BF2 is the only game that this happens with, all others [Quake 4, CS: Source, Half-Life 2] work fine! If anyone has any ideas to help, please let me know! -Thanks!
