[help] athalon vs pentium

tring to prove to my uncle that an athalon is better then a pentium. in a specific example. an athalon at 2.4 gighrtz vs a penitum 4 at 3 gigahertz.

how can i technically prove him wrong =]

and can sum1 show a comparison page

They aren't necessarily better than pentiums, they just preform better in gaming and such. Pentiums can do better than athlons in other things.

Just look up some reviews man , on www.tomshardware.com you have very big CPU charts with many many benchmarks in it

also a 2.4Ghz AMD to a P4 3.0Ghz is not a good comparison. a 2.4Ghz AMD is more like a 3.2-3.4Ghz P4

Just have it this way... A p43Ghz is the equiv of an AMD 3000+.. simple, but the 3200+ only runs at about 1.8Ghz-2Ghz. You have to realise that Intels are not sall bad, infact is you are using them in an office way (for word.. blah blah blah.. snore snore snore ) they are actually better. Where as AMD's are better for gaming. This has a lot to do with the arcitecture of the actual cards. The other reason that a 1.8Ghz-2Ghz AMD is as good (if not better in some cases) then a 3Ghz Intel is because of the number if instructions they do per clock (or cycle). Intels do 6, where as AMD's do 9, so this means...

Intel 3*6 = 18
AMD 2*9 = 18

If you really want to know all the fine print google it, or if your lazy, go to Tom's Hardware and just look at all the comparason charts (bear in mind, those are for gaming use).
