I can't wait ill my X1900 XT gets here today, then maybe I can stop arguing about it and sit down and enjoy BF2 at 1600x1200 6xAD 16xHQAF and consistently playable frames.
The flame war rages on, BTW flanker, i already said in one of my later posts that the X1900XTX wasn't 'owning' the GTX512, but it was still 'beating' it, also it is a ton cheaper.

Wow, i'm surprised, more people are buying X1900XTs when they first come out, than when teh GTX512 when they first came out. But that's mainly cause nvidia didn't distribute enough GTX512s, also the X1900 is cheaper.

High end cards are for people who want everything on MAX including their resolution. 1280x1024 is yesterdays 1024x768. I certainly never bought a 9800 or 6800GT to run @ 10x7, but at that time, 10x12.
The newer cards ONLY shine when everything is maxed, and the resolution is above 1600x1200. The X1900XT/X examplifies this. From ALL of the reviews, the card is extremely impressive, allowing games to run at 1600x1200, with maxed settings, 4xAA/16xAF AND HDR. Name any other card on the market that can do this. Only until the x1900XT/X, no card could run HDR and AA at the same time . . .
In BF2s case, the card runs it at 1600x1200, all settings on HIGH, with AF @ 16x and AA @ 6x - PLAYABLE. Once again, show me a card that can do that . . .
Virtually any card can run 1280x1024. Bring some more pixels into the game, then lets see who owns :). I'm eagerly awaiting the G71 . . . that should be fun :).
WOW this card made bf2 twice as playable... it now DOES NOT stutter when i start the map (probably due to 512 mb of ram) and i now get constantly 60-80 FPS with dips to the high 50's when my X1800XL was usually 30-40's with dips to about 18

Yo, since ur done with the X1800XL, could u send it to me? Please? :)
Anyways, wow, u only got 30-40fps with ur X1800XL, it must be cause of the lack of memory, i get average 45fps with my X800XL (average 60fps before patch 1.12/SF), and it goes to 30fps at LOWEST.

No, what LCD do u have, i run at 1280x1024, but i still have 6xTAA (temporal AA, doubles the effect of AA), and 16xAF, and what the hell does ADAA mean, i know that HQAF means high quality anisotropic filtering. Anyways, how do u get ADAA and HQAF, is it through cat control panel, cause i don't got that option, or are u just making up ADAA and HQAF up cause it sounds cool. Also could u send ur old X1800XL to me?:)

ive got a CRT, and Adaptive AA is ATI's version of supersampling and HQAF is only an option on X1k cards
