Oh God...please don't tell me you believed that crap...did you even read the thread...

For some REAL reviews and benches, check these out. As most of your monitors won't be able to do 2048x1536, look at the max your monitor can do. For LCDs, its 1280x1024. For most CRTs, its likely to be 1600x1200 max.

They were supposed to be released last June.

Ya, the release date was months before the actual release, and then when they 'said' they 'released' it, the stores didn't have it for a while. If they were released earlier, they mighta actualy stood a chance against nvidia.

I feel bad for those guys that just bought GTX512mb cards for like 600+ dollars each, when they coulda bought a X1900XT for 520 dollars, or X1900XTX for 600 bucks if they just waited a LITTLE longer. Well, that's what u get for being ignorant to products soon to be released.
Ok, I understand that, but it did come out later, and just wait till the 7900 series comes out, then it'll be a different ballgame. Also, the xtx is a MASSIVE ripoff. I mean come on, another 100 bucks for +25mhz core and +50mhz mem? Please tell me there's more..:p

It beats the 7800 GTX 512 about the same amount the GTX beats the X1800. If I remember correctly you said the GTX 512 destroys the competition, meaning the X1800 series. Why then does the X1900 not destroy the GTX 512?

A bit more than this forum expected, at $750, it still destroys the competition with a 550MHz Core speed and 1700MHz Memory speed.

This will be the king of videocards until the GeForce 8s come out.
and... The X1900XT is $200+ cheaper, the XTX is $100+ cheaper and they are both readily available. My opinion with the 1900 is the same I had when the GTX 512 was released, it's not that much better than the other offerings. What made me go ATI this time was price and availability compared to the GTX 512.

Both of you should cut out your fanboy crap, it stinks.

P.S. Why argue about cards you're not even going to buy?

Actually, I really like this newest offering from ati, and it's made my short list for another upgrade (soon) I just wanna see what nvidia has first before I make my decision.

Ya, that was a bad review, just checked those new 'trusted' reviews, not as much owning, but it's still 'beating' the GTX512mb. Anyways, i agree, all the 'trusted' reviews say u should skip the XTX, it is just a overclocked X1900XT, and it's not much of an overclock, and it costs 80 bucks more to get it on newegg.com

                  Re: X1900 Released!

                  Hmm, did you even read the review Wreck? Let me tell you what it said. In the Anandtech review, in the BF2 maximum quality part, it says;

                  Resolution; 1280x1024.
                  GeForce 7800GTX-512MB = 60.9FPS.
                  Radeon X1900XT = 60.1.

So lets review...the 7800GTX-512MB beats the X1900XT in the maximum resolution of 95% of LCDs, and at the quality that most people will play with the card. In the same review, the X1900XT gets 62.6 FPS. Thats 1.7FPS more than the 7800GTX. True, it beats the 7800GTX, but it hardly "owns" it.

And if that wasn't enough, in the Xbit Labs review, the 7800GTX-512MB gets 110.8FPS on 1280x1024 with 4xAA and 16xAF. The X1900XTX gets 115.5 FPS in the same situations. Do you call that owning? I don't know, but the majority of us don't, I'm sure.

By comparison, the differences between the 7800GTX-512MB and X1800XT were so large, they were close to 40% at times.

Really? In that same review you just posted at that same resoluton the X1800 XT gets 54.7fps. Thats a lowly 6.2 fps below that of the GTX 512. Sure the GTX 512 beats the X1800, but it hardly destroys it. That sure doesn't look like 40% to me. To be fair the X1900 cards don't even have official drivers out yet.

I never said anything owned or destroyed anything else. I leave that you you and Eddy. I said that the GTX 512 was barely better than the X1800, and that the X1900 is barely better than the GTX 512. I read the review.

The $100 more the nVidia costs is a big deal when you factor price for performance.

IMO that makes the x19 "own" at the momment...

Anyone who currently has an x1800, wait until DX10 cards if you're considering a x1900 now...as in dont buy one.

If we used that argument everytime, the 7800GTX-512MB WOULD have owned the X1800XT.

All I'm saying is that with the logic you posted with above then you could also say the X1900 XT destroys the GTX 512. Well I say neither. I have said in both cases each company barely beat the other. The difference for me is I can actually get a damn ATI card.

                                Re: X1900 Released!

High end cards are for people who want everything on MAX including their resolution. 1280x1024 is yesterdays 1024x768. I certainly never bought a 9800 or 6800GT to run @ 10x7, but at that time, 10x12.

The newer cards ONLY shine when everything is maxed, and the resolution is above 1600x1200. The X1900XT/X examplifies this. From ALL of the reviews, the card is extremely impressive, allowing games to run at 1600x1200, with maxed settings, 4xAA/16xAF AND HDR. Name any other card on the market that can do this. Only until the x1900XT/X, no card could run HDR and AA at the same time . . .

In BF2s case, the card runs it at 1600x1200, all settings on HIGH, with AF @ 16x and AA @ 6x - PLAYABLE. Once again, show me a card that can do that . . .

Virtually any card can run 1280x1024. Bring some more pixels into the game, then lets see who owns :). I'm eagerly awaiting the G71 . . . that should be fun :).
