    Audio Line In

    Hello all,

Is there any way to force BF2 to recognize the Audio Line In instead of the Mic Input? I know BF2 is crud for supporting mic options, but does anyone know a tweak or workaround?

I have a professional microphone plugged into a pre-amp/mixer. I would like to send to balanced mixer output to the Audio Line In because it sounds just ace, but I can't get BF2 to see it. It works fine in Ventrilo.

When I'm forced to go through the Mic Input jack, I'm forced to go through my computer's pathetic mic pre-amp, butchering the quality of my excellent rig.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Audio Line In

I have a similar problem. I have a pretty nice Plantronics headset. It's comfortable as hell, the sound reproduction is quite good and the mic sounds great in other applications... but BF likes to be bitchy and not allow anything but mic 1. That's some of the sloppiest/laziest coding I've heard of in awhile. VOIP is an integral part of the game and they barely support it!! And they haven't even patched it yet. Extremely disappointing.

I haven't found any other headsets that I like as much as these, so I'd rather not drop another chunk of money on sub-par headphones just b/c EA/DICE can't be bothered to provide standard mic support.

I have read about a couple work arounds, something involving alt-tabbing out and changing something after you load the first map. But I'm not quite sure I understand what exaclty to do there, so if someone could detail that a little bit more, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
