well currently my mouse moves in a slight jerking fashion. The only way I can describe it is if you run through numbers 1 to 10. It moves in increments of 2. The faster you move the bigger the gap. So if you spin round you'll loose allot of time centering a target. Would this be solved by a better mouse. I don't use a mouse mat either, although I tried a pad of paper today which gave a slight improvement. Ironically today for the 1st time buttons seemed to stick & cause me no end of problems too.

if u want wireless, the G7 is ur best choice, if that's too expensive, the MX1000 will do. THe best wired gaming mouses are the Razer Copperhead and the Logitech G5, and just behind those are the Razer Diamondback, and the MX518.

So the MX1000 isn't the way forward??? I'm starting to get confused. Do I really want to go back a wired mouse & do I also need for pay an extra £25 for a decent mouse mat. I only get 2-3 hours to play a week at best. When play I want to enjoy it & not get annoyed at having a poor gaming mouse.

P.s can't take my eyes of the tag above.

If you really want to go wireless and game don't go for the MX1000, take the G7 instead. The G7 is just an improved version of the MX1000 and made for gaming.

Though better stay away from the wireless bit, a G5 will do better.

The G7 has MUCH fewer buttons and the layout of those remaining buttons IMO isn't as nice.

So, as an avid MX1000 user and having tried the G7, I can most CERTAINLY say that the G7 is NOT an improved version of the MX1000. It's an entirely different mouse.

They may not have had gaming in mind when they created the MX1000..but that does NOT make it a non-gaming mouse

G7 has 1 extra button actually! The mousewheel has a left/right tilt action now which replaces the ONE missing button on the side, works really well, superb mouse.
