BF 2 shut down by itself..Help!

    BF 2 shut down by itself..Help!

    Since I bought a new ram and overclocked my cpu. Sometimes BF2 would shut down by itself. Hmm a few times have happened since I disable paging file and once for not disabling paging file. Why is this? Does anybody else experience problem when playing BF2 , it would exit by itself?

    My computer spec is this

    AMD X2 4400 overclocked to 2.64 ghz 240mhz x11
    2x1 GB GKill Extreme Series HZ
    Sparkle 7800gt
    Asus A8N-SLI

      How far is your ram overclocked? You shouldn't disable your page file. It could be because of your overclock if it's not stable.

          My GSKill Ram is named Extreme Series HZ if not mistaken . It is rated at DDR500 and it is rated stable at 250 Mhz but I am only running them at 240 Mhz because at 250 Mhz it won't run at 1t.Decided for lower speed to get that 1 t. I am thinking of RMA the rams because it is not running at the speed it should be. I am experiencing less shutdown now since I got to enable paging file. What could be the possilble reason for the unexpected BF2 shutdowns?

              You tried bumping the voltages up on your RAM or CPU? A bad overclock will act exactly like it if it's not getting the proper voltage. When I OCed, I had to take my RAM voltage up two settings, loosen the RAM timings, and finally up the CPU voltage. Before that, it ran like a pogo stick on a wet log in the middle of the rapids being attacked by rabid beavers.

                  rabid beavers! ah thats a good simile, with canadian involvement in too.

                  hmm, i wonder if my ram could perform better.... me, i dont have high end ram and dont know about high end ram, but for me, running them at the speeds theyre supposed to be at if theyre all the same speed works like a charm, and screwing with the speed, even slowing it down, really messes it up.

                  try normal speed for all your ram. if that doesnt work, id suggest de over clocking your processor.
