AMD Releases FX60 Dual Core FX Series

For those who haven't seen this already AMD's FX60 processor, which has 2 cores running at 2.6Ghz w/1MB L2 Cache is available for retail.

Newegg, who traditionally has low prices on computer hardware has the processor listed at nearly $1400.

Ya, anyways, the FX-61 will be coming out soon, it's the single core FX series, it'll run at 3.0ghz, i'm just wondering how much that'll cost.

Exactly toxikneedle. Hell mine runs at 2.8GHz and once I get my RAM back from RMA, I'm looking at the 3.0GHz range and I paid A LOT less than $1400.

I would take an opteron though, they overclock much better than regular X2s, and they're about the same price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103584
It's a TAD (like 40 bucks) more expensive than the 4400+, but it overclocks further.

The FX series has unlocked multipliers. Although that point is moot really since the Toledo will usually max out at 3.0Ghz.
