Having major issues with installing windows xp. I purchased the OEM version from newegg.com and it didn't come with an activation code. I called newegg and they said oems don't come with product keys and I was SOL. I called microsoft and they gave a code but it says it's invalid. Please help I'm very frustrated wirh the whole experience.

Huh? When you got the little paper cd case thingy that was covered in shrinkwrap, it should've had a little sticker on the outside of the plastic with your serial number on it.

nope it had nada. She said I didn't purchase one with a license so basically I got scammed by newegg.

If microsoft gave you a product key, make sure you're entering it with out using the Capslock or the shift key. Even if the letters were given to you in upper case, enter them in lower case.
