Will my specs run bf2 on high?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Foxconn 939socket mobo
1gb pc3200 corsair XMS memory (xms=made for performance/gaming)
Sapphire x800gto2 unlocked to x850xtpe
500w psu

I might get 2gb of valueram if I can find a good deal before I order the parts... ($120 or under for 2x1gb pc3200)

It should, once you get two gigs of ram. I'd just get the valueram over the xms, you won't be able to tell the difference, as long as you don't wanna oc.

What ati setting are you talking about? I might sell these rollerblades I got for free from this kid on ebay to make the extra 60 bucks to get decent memory. :)

well, I have an nvidia card and I have settings where u can turn AA on , on top of the AA in bf2. I would assume that there r similar settings for ATI cards

So, you think I would be able to run it on high? I don't want to buy it then not be able to and be **** out of luck. You think 2gb of valueram will run it on high? I don't really have to have textures on high, it could be on medium BUT most all other settings on high.

If you get 2Gb of value ram you will be able to run it on high. 1280x1024 with 4x AA, and 8X AF high settings with an average FPS of 60.

K, I'm definitely doing that. I gotta sell these rollerblades on ebay and get the cash. Then order the remaining parts i need. I should have it done and built hopefully by no later then feb 5th because the company I ordered my processor from is taking forever to process and ship the processor.

Yeah, 2Gb of value ram > 1Gb of high performance ram when it comes to BF2. The most important thing in running games these days is enough ram, and a good video card. You can skimp on the rest, but get a good Power supply to protect your investment.

everything on high other than textures on meduim maybe lighting on meduim if you want anti antilising

2gb will let you put textures on high

Not necessarily. I just bought a new X850XT PE and thought I would get great graphics and I am not running on high. I only get 30-40FPS most of the time. 80FPS looking at the sky or something.

3.0GHz P4 HT 800MHz FSB

ATI X850XT PE
P4C800 Deluxe

CPU: 5% OC to 3.15GHz
Graphics Card: 580/600 (Both OC bars up about 50% in Catalyst Control Center)
Processes: All unnecessary processes terminated Including disabling the two pesky norton services that couldn't be terminated.
3DMark05 Score: 6045 (This is the OC setting I currently play BF2 at)
BF2 Settings: I played with 4x AA and medium AF, Lighting and shadows on medium, rest on high, 1280x1024. FPS is in the 30-50 range, seems low!!! Drops to around 20FPS inside the Iron Gator aircraft storage area!

Yes, and I also went with an amd 64 3200+ instead of a 3000+. :) I see you have a 3200+. When I get it, will I need watercooling or major air cooling to overclock it?
