How the hell do i overclock past 2.25ghz?

Ok, let's see, i've tried my hardest to get my CPU to get past 2.25ghz. But i still can't. I have crappy memory, but i put it at a memory divider or 2:3. My mobo is top notch, and my CPU should be able to overclock more. I can push it to 2.25ghz, but then after that, it'll restart the comp like after 3 minutes, and like after 30 seconds if i run Prime 95. WHat do i do next, increase voltage on mem, increase voltage on CPU? WHat should i do, any tips.

Increase the Vcore a little bit at a time. What is your multiplier set to? What is your HTT? And Vcore? Also, you know if your motherboard doesn't have locks on it's SATA ports, after 220MHz, you'll start getting disk corruption and Windows will crash with a SATA harddrive.

Could you post all your specs including cooling?

      Thanks.

Ok, increase the voltage on the CPU, i'll do that. Anyways, my multiplier is set to 10x, can't be higher, also my HTT is at 225mhz. Also, how do i check to see if the mobo has locks on the SATA ports? Cause that might be the problem. Anyways, my system specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice Core
        Mobo: DFI Lanparty Ultra-D
Memory: Corsair Value Select 1GB running at a 2:3 divider
Cooling: All stock (i get temps of 26 idle with my CPU, and 32 on load).

What is your HTT/LDT bus multiplier? It needs to be set to 4 x up to 260mhx and 3x over 260mhz.

I think all Lanparty's come with locked SATA ports, but don't quote me on it.

Set the HTT multiplier to 4. Raise your Vcore a notch or 2. Try 225MHz, run 1M SuperPi for a quick stability test. If you pass that, raise your HTT to 230MHz and try 1M SuperPi again. Keep doing that until SuperPi errors out, raise the Vcore a notch. Do that until you start to get some high temps, or you don't see any performance increase after you overclock.

One good thing to do is run 1M SuperPi at stock timings to see what improvements you get. Keep track of what settings and what times you get. After you think you are at your max OC, run Prime95 to test for long term stability. If that crashes, lower your HTT a few MHz and run it again.

Ok, since i just started overclocking with this machine, what the hell is the HTT/LTD multiplier? ANyways, ryamples, i'll try doing what u said.

HTT multi is how you get the HTT bus speed. FSB x HTT Multi = HTT speed, on most MOBOs you need totry to keep the HTT under 1000. Also you need to narrow it down to your CPU causing the problem. Drop the CPU Multi down and see how high you can get the FSB to make sure it's not the MOBO that won't do over 225.

Go into your bios. Go to Genie bios settings. The 3rd setting down is:

                      LDT/FSB x 5

                      Set it to 4.

Also how did you set your voltage? You need to use the 104%/110%, and 113% settings. You set your base voltage to default say 1.4 and then use the 110% to start with.

Please tell me you've been raising the vcore.

And its called the HyperTransport Bus guys.

                              HTT (200) x LDT multi (5x) = HyperTransport Bus speed (1000).
