    Should I buy?

Ok, this is what i got, there is a place called Micro Center in Boston MA, there's a 20% off sale on many vid cards. So i go over to look since i got an email about it. I found some really nice deals, one in particular, a X1800XL for 300 bucks. Should i buy this, after tax the thing is 315 bucks, but that's still cheap for a vid card. I have to get a new vid card anyways cause i'm building a new comp for my vacation house in china (i'll probably bring a registered copy of BF2 there as well, or whatever game is the hype ATM). So, if i buy this new vid card, i'll replcae my current X800XL with the X1800xl, and take the X800XL to my house in china, or just sell it on ebay (very unlikely, a 10% chance this will happen). Anyways, i bet like 1 billion of u are gonna say "OMFG, why don't u just get a nvidia 7800GT on newegg.com for like 300 bucks" but my answer is simple, since i don't have any heat probs in my case, i should be able to overclock farther than i could wiht a 7800GT. Also, i don't play many OpenGL games like Doom3 or FarCry, i play a lot of CS:S, HL2, AA (which is based on the original HL engine), and of course BF2, all of which are Direct 3d games. And as most of u guys know, Direct3d tends to work better with ATi. Anyways, this is a 2 week sale, i'm gonna go at saturday or never. If u wanna see the sale urself, go to www.microcenter.com, u'll find that there's a big 20% sale at the site, and then go to graphics cards, teh X1800XL is 319 bucks, but has a rebate of 20 bucks (rebates are indicated by the dollar sign next to price. Anyways, this is a retail card (not OEM in other words) and it is by ATi itself. I think this is a good buy, since i got my X800XL for 300 bucks, and now i could get this baby for only 15 more dollars, anyways, if i don't get this, i'll have to settle for a 6800GS or a 7800GT, which i would rather not do. Advice on whether i should buy this card?

That's what i'm thinkin, just wanna see if any nvidia fanboys could sway me even though i have VERY good reason to buy this.

EDIT: But then again, a problem might arise if that particular microcenter doesn't have the thing in stock, and shipping will cost another lke 7 bucks or so, i hate ordering online, but if it's that good a deal, i'll still do it.

Eh, seems like a good deal. I personally wouldn't get it as it would interfere with my fanboyism, but it looks like a good deal. Go for it.

go for it, i prefer nvidia, but Im not a fanboy and I admit ATi performs very well! That card performs better than the 7800 is some programs, and not as good in others. DO IT DO IT DO IT! Break away from the crowd

Oh, and if u want the link here: http://microcenter.com/byos/byos_sin...uct_id=0229007
Oh ya, the old rebate expired, now they got a new one, but it's even better cause it's 30 bucks instead of 20 bucks. Oh, and if u guys want, u can buy it off online, u don't get charged with tax like i do , u only get shipping costs, unless u live in a state that has microcenter.
