Re: New Raptor HD's from WD
i would probably opt for a 16mb cache hd for storage/games. much cheaper than buying the new raptors. and use a 74GB raptor(s) in raid0 for the OS/programs.

Yeah, but the new raptors also have a 16mb cache, so I'm definately picking up at least one.

Re: New Raptor HD's from WD
do you think WD uses 2 74GB platters or one large 150GB platter? Also, it seems that WD will be releasing an updated 74GB version w/ 16MB cache as well (74GB Raptor V3).

Prob two platters, but I don't know, all I really know is that the speed boost should be pretty big.Originally posted by gsxr310do you think WD uses 2 74GB platters or one large 150GB platter? Also, it seems that WD will be releasing an updated 74GB version w/ 16MB cache as well (74GB Raptor V3).
