Ok, thanks. I was looking at overclockers uk at the water cooling. I know nothing about it but would this kit be ok? Because I know people have said not to buy kits as they are overpriced and can't replace individual pieces.

A Zalman Resolator Plus will run u a LOT of money, it's like 250 USD, in UK, it's gonna be like at least 150 pounds. Anyways, i reccomend going custom, like Dangerden WC, also, u could go for air cooling. Why don't u get a Zalman VF-700-CU, it's prob the best air GPU cooler on the market.

Do not get a kit. They aren't any better than stock air cooling, they are just quieter. Either build your own kit, or get a better heatsink/fan.

Ok. I'll dust out my case to improve airflow and then see how the temps are and see if I need to buy the heatsink.

I cleaned my case out but the temps are still extreme. I think I'll buy the HS. But if I wanted water cooling how would I go about going custom? What are good makes and what parts would I need?

Follow all the reccomendations on the top of the page. THat'll get u a great kit, it's pricey, but all good watercoolers are pricey. Anyways, if u want air cooling for ur GPU here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...of_Zalman.html
THe second one on that page is a nice one, and it's not TOO expensive.

Are u guys sure you are using the right temperature measurement. My x800xl never goes higher than 110 F.

Are u guys sure you are using the right temperature measurement. My x800xl never goes higher than 110 F.

Everybody uses C for degrees in hardware, anyways, if u know what 48C is in F, then tell me.

TO get lower GPU temps (and temps all around) do the following:

3) If needed, buy new fans to get better airflow, make sure u have as much CFM from ur fans going IN to the case, as going out. In other words, u need cool air to go in, in order for hot air to go out.

that is NOT a rule that is set in stone. that would only be true if the pc case was completely sealed with the fans being the only inlets and outlets for air flow. i have 3 80 mm. fans (side, top and back) and all 3 are used as exhaust. i have a prescott (which runs hotter than most processors) and an x800 xt pe, both with the stock hsf. the prescott temperature maxes out at about 53 °C and the x800 heats to about 68 °C under load. there's no real "science" to fan flow directions, it's all trial and error. you just need to keep experimenting to find out what's works best with your case.

110F is 43.36C; I have water cooling so I don't really count.

mine video card is at 43,44C....if yours is 75C then hell you got a major heat probleme!

Well, why don't u try putting the side one to intake, and get a very powerful one for intake, since u have 3 other exhaust fans (If u include the PSU that is), also, the 'best' config for fans as said by many people is one intake fan at the lower front of ur case, one low side intake fan (low cause then the GPU will get nice fresh, cool air) and a exhaust fan at the top of case, and one exhaust fan in the upper back. Anyways, u get pretty hot temps, considering that i run my X800XL at idle with only 30C, and load at 48C, all with stock cooling.
