Sound decision?

I went out and picked up a Creative Live! 24 bit soundcard this weekend ad an upgrade over my crappy old $5 mad dog card.

When I set my audio options to hardware however, the Commander's voice comes out all choppy and stuttery. Anyone else have a similar issue?

The Live! series isn't good enough to support hardware settings.

Looks like I'll be yanking this and moving on up! Who has a good suggestion that won't break the bank??? At some point, I've got to cut off the spending and start saving for a PS3...

Well the xfi is better, but they are having some issues with BF2, i not sure if is all of the xfi series, of just the fatality version. Visit the soundblaster forums first, and read before making your choice, i say go with the xfi just because is newer, but with bf2 since to be having some hickups

X-fi hiccups are more or less solved.

Why save for the PS3? Your system is already better than one. With the extra cash, buy an X-Fi Fatal1ty

I guess "saving" for the PS3 is the wrong thing to say. What I more or less mean is I have to stop blowing money on my PC just to play a few games, when PS3 comes out in six months or so, and I'll be playing games at similar (albeit not quite as pristine) quality in 65 inch HD glory.

I have my PC set to use my tv as a second monitor if I choose, and the PQ is SOLID, but playing games from the couch on a keyboard gets tedious.

All this being said, I probably will never stop upgrading my PC (it's a disease), and will certainly pick up PS3 anyway...

Hehee, I'm saving for some extra stuff for my PC. Dunno what it'll be though, another GTX or an X-Fi... Hmmm...

I heard the X-Fis are good but I'm pretty happy with the sound quality I've got now.

Why buy a PS3? I got a disease that made me want a PS2 and an Xbox. I wish I hadn't and had spent the money on PC bits.

I just installed the X-Fi Xtreme Music. It solved the issue. Sounds great. On sale at Best Buy...

Ok, you convinced me to not buy a PS3. What should I upgrade next!?!?!?

Get some good/matching RAM, and/or aftermarket cooling.
