will my radeon work or should i return it?

ok well i have a radeon 9250 and it doesn't work well so i took it out it just totally screwed my comp up now i have omega drivers,1 gig of ram, and the rest is stock dell demension 3000 parts. Does anyone have any ideas on what i should install or what i should do?

which i could always return it and add that money with the money i got for christmas and get a better card in that case which should i get. it has to be pci btw coz all the dell has is pci.

Um, ur in a bit of trouble then. the 9250 can barely run BF2, and the best PCI card is like a FX5700. Do u have any more options, like building a new pc?

geuss i'm screwed then coz this dell is only a year old and my dad would never buy parts to make a new one lol is there anyway i can get like extensions so i can use pci express cards? coz if i return the card i have around 270 some dollars i think depends on how much they give me i have 100 bucks and a $20 gift card to best buy but they have crappy cards i was thinking of getting an nvidia card instead of an ATI but idk

If you paid $270 for that card, then you got ripped. Secondly, I'm not sure which Best Buy you shot at, but the one I work for has kick ass video cards, including the 7800GT (unfortunately this will not work on your computer).

Third, there is no adapter for PCI-Express.

Third standard PCI sucks, you're not going to be happy with the performance one way or another, to be honest, with that Dell you're pretty much S.O.L. because by the time you upgrade everything (most of which would have to be done through Dell) you might as well buy a whole new computer.

You can try and get a FX5700 on the PCI interface if you can find one, but PCI cards are a dying breed, so dying in fact that most places don't even carry them anymore. You're going to probably have to order one online at places like www.newegg.com or something.

Then again you'd also be investing in old technology anyways, so I'm not sure its worth it in the first place.

Thanks but yea i only paided around 90 bucks or so so all together it would get me some more money then i have but yes when i get a job i'm hopeing to save up lots of money but yea i tryed new egg and found a pci 5500 geforce but bf2 says it wouldn't run it but idk coz it runs bf 1942 thanks for you help anyway
