    Hey guys! Question for you.

    Hi guys.:hi:

I'm new and I also have a question. Sorry if this post is in the wrong thread, I moderate a rather popular Quake forum so I know what it's like to handle some of this stuff.

Well, I just installed BF2 last night after I recieved it for Christmas. It works fine up untill I go into multiplayer. Any server I click on a message pops up and says "Your connection to the server has been lost". The only thing I can think of is my firewall, but no messages have popped up saying it has blocked any connection like it normally does. What things do you absolutely need to play online? I skipped the gamespy download and had problems with registering an account with EA games. Maybe that's the problem?

Thanks for taking the time to read my noobish questions.:)

I would reinstall till it goes smoothly, then do the patches.

Skipped the gamespy part as well and did not have a problem. Probably not it.
Try moving your question to the support section. The wizzkids out there can probably help you. Better try to give some more info though.

Try manually updating PunkBuster @ http://www.evenbalance.com.
They have a program called PBSetup.
Download it into your pb subfolder and run it from there.
          That may be the solution.
(Before I forget... the last thing you ran was the 1.12 patch, right?)
