AA can't go higher then 4x with 7800gt?

    I have a asus 7800gt 256mb, Asus sli premium, 2gigs....
And i hear people all the time saying they have bf2 on 8xaa (or 16xaa..i think)
I can only put it up to 4xaa there are no higher option???
Do i have a wrong driver or something??? if so tell me witch one should i get for the asus 7800gt and my asus sli premium.

you can do it using the nvidia control panel, but probably take a big hit in performance, 4X is good enough. ATI cards can only run it on 6X AA, or also set it with the CCC

The ingame AA renderer is DICE's own and nothing to do wuth the hardware you have.
If you want to go higher then disable the ingame AA setting and then force a different method in your NVidia controlpanel, suck as 8xS or whatever you want.

with SLi u can have up to 16x AA, the most AA you can get with a single nvidia card and the nvidia drivers is 8x.

ok, first get the latest drivers from nvidia.com. then install them and reboot. (unless you already have them), right click on your desktop, and go to NVIDIA display > your moniter's name.
this will bring up a lil menu of things to do. find the performance and quality settings tab, and find anti aliasing on the list. click it, Uncheck the box that says "application controlled" and turn up your AA as much as you want, and hit Apply. I wrote this off of memory because Im not on my nvidia powered computer right now, but Im almost positive this is how you do it.

because they paid 600$ for graphics cards, and find that they can get the same bf2 performance for half the price, they need to feel better and not have buyers remorse, so they put AA to like 8x

I find 2xAA is all I need...great balance between IQ and performance.

AA makes edges, and generally lines, smoother and straighter.

AF makes slanted surfaces look right.
