    Performance mystery... Please help.

Specs are in my sig. The 3.0c is running at 3.3 (vcore at 1.6). The x800pro runs at 521/553 core/mem (overclocked). I've noticed this for ages, but I'm finally sick of the crap performance I get. Settings are mostly medium + 2 high (dynamics off) and 4xaa at 1280x1024. I start up a local server just to test it out. I top out at around 99fps and drop down to 30fps randomly. I also notice that movement is nowhere near as fluid as on several of my friends' systems, as well as slight, frequent stuttering.
The worst begins when I join a 64 player server (50 to 64 players present, including myself, on average). My frames dip to about 16 fps, but top out at 99. The stuttering I mentioned before becomes more frequent, and movement is nowhere near fluid, hell, it's not even smooth at times (even when I'm getting 40+ fps). The same happens when I turn AA completely off and run at all medium.
Virus scans and adware/spyware scans pick up nothing. I've reinstalled windows, reinstalled BF2 (thrice), closed all unnecessary background processes, defragged, I've tried running in hardware sound mode instead of X-Fi. Is there no solution to this?

    Is HT enabled?
    Have you defragged recently?
Is that an AGP card or PCIe?

      HT is enabled.
      I defragged two days ago.
      The x800pro is AGP.

Try disabling HT, many people have reported gains after disabling.
What is your AGP aperture size set at?

Disabling HT made the load times increase, but no improvement. AGP aperture is set to 128mb.

Try 256, I have a similar card and 128 was pretty stuttery for me too.
