crackling in sound?

first time i hear this, i have a crackling sound comin from my speakers, is it my speakers or sound card? because when i have them turned up high, and when i lower them i still hear it, dosnt matter if i raise them from the control, or through windows...or is it a settings that i have on thats not working right?

try putting your sound settings in bf2 to software and see it helps, its most likey from your onboard sound card, mine does the same thing on hardware setting.

actualy i dont hear it in game, im just sitting here and i hear crackling

got access to some headphones or other speakers? it will save going out and buying new speakers or a soundcard. tried installing new drivers?

im using headphones now, and still i cant tell if its from sound card or system, since its usb

ok I am havin the exact same problem. its for sure the on-board sound/sound card cuz my friend has the exact same speakers and his doesnt do that. i find the noise happens when its loading somethin.

Yayyyyy i finally found some people with this problem lol i have the crackling only when playing bf2 i play CSS no problems with sound at all i have tryed all settings in bf2 with no luck the crackling problem only started for me after i installed the 1.12 patch ahhhggg lol its really anoying

Mute Line-In and CD Digital/Player in the mixer.

Also, if you're using a USB headset, it's best if you plug it into a self-powered external USB hub rather than directly into your PCs front or rear USB ports. Less 'noise' from internal power.

when i muted the line-in and the mixer, the sound went away in other programs but now its worse in BF2

Go back into the mixer while BF2 is running and see..I'll bet you BF2 unmuted the line-in again or something like that.

BF2 TOTALLY screws with your mixer.

for the mixer u mean in the Control Panel, then Sounds and Audio Devices

Right..that would be the Windows Mixer. You have to use the 'Advanced' button on the 'Volume' tab to bring up the mixer.

If you have the speaker icon in the tray (lower right hand corner) you can also double-click on that.

for some reason its still making the crakling sound and i tried muting the stuff when in the game and that didnt work so does anyone have anything else that would help
