Well, Im no specialist but I think you get higher core clock frequency with the 2x 7800 256mb.

The 512MB is the better card. But, 1 512MB is no competition for 2 256s in SLI.Plus 2 256s are cheaper than 1 512. Then you could argue 2 512s would be better and you're right. It's just how much money you want to spend.

LOL, 2 512s cost an arm and a leg lol. I have a month or 2 old PC and seeing all these people bragging about their 'dual GTXs' really annoys me. My dad would NEVER let me get another GTX, because its new etc...

I think right now 2x7800gt's are about equal to a single gtx 512mb, so two 256mb gtx's should have more than enough power to last at least a year. Besides, it's kinda hard to find any 512mb cards in stock anywhere right now.

They can be had for under $400. That's not bad at all. Some of us don't have to ask dad for 2 GTXs, only a wife.

The wife with the job too. lol Since we are overseas, a job is hard to come by that fits our needs. This is the only thing I spend money on and it makes me happy so she's cool with it. Gotta love a wife like that.
