I currently run bf2 on two 5 year old hard drives, that i must admit are crap :).. although i do not know the cache on the 2 hard drives, does anyone think that a new shiny 200 gig hard drive with an 8mb cache will make any diffrence?

Re: New Hard drive
I suggest you go with a Maxtor DiamondMax with 16MB cache. It costs around 100 euro and it will give you the best SATA results you can get (exception for the crazy expensive Raptor HDD's ofcourse). If you don't have SATA support, you better wait a bit and do a full upgrade including a new motherboard.Comment

Re: New Hard drive
The Maxtor DiamondMax 10 series is superb, in my experiance. They make it very easy to setup the drive and install it. In many tests, the drive I bought (250gb DM 10) keeps up very well with a much more expensive Raptor drive. http://techreport.com/reviews/2005q1...0/index.x?pg=1
A nice review on the Maxtor and Raptor drives that should give you a good idea of what to expect from a DiamondMax 10.Comment
