Opening the Case - How NOT to fux up my compooter?

Is there any special percautions I should worry about? When I opened my case up earlier today, I noticed my graphics cards heat sink, fan.. whatever.. had alot of dust around the edges, I was wondering if I could clean this off, and how? feather duster? I assume I need to un[lug the compooter first, of course?

    Anything I need to know?

    turn of PC!
    turn of PSU switch!

touch something like your heating radiator (not a painted part) , or something that is grounded . this to prevent static electricity , because when you are loaded with static electricity , and you tock pc components, this can unload to those components and this can result in fuxing those components.

then you can clean the dust, ideal is a stick where you also clean your ears with (hope you know what I mean wich that)

You can pick up an antistatic wristband for $5

Ghetto alternative is posted in the post above, just touch something metal to get rid of any static and don't wear anything like a fleece or whatever builds up charge.

Yea you can just turn it all off and unplug.

Use compressed air to clean your system and never a static loaded feather duster. You can get the compressed air (dust off), at best buy and even walmart.

compressed air will just blow the dust somewhere else, mainly behind your motherboard, thes it sits between the motherboard and case, there it can become a conductor between case and motherboard causing a shortcut and destroying your motherboard.

those stick where you clean your ears witch are to small to cary static electricity (or the amount is so small it could not harm a microbe) .
And with this you can go between the fan bladed.

dust lying in botoom of case, just use vacuumcleaner
