Looking for a 7800GTX cooler...

I'm looking for something that'll cool my GTX besides water. How is the NV Silencer vs the Zalman VF700? Anyone have any other cooler on their GTX? Thanks!

please take the NV silencer (5)!!!

I use this cooler to on my 7800GTX , it's very very quit, and performance is super.

Also big advantage of the nv silencer is the fact it covers all the memory chips also, meaning they get cooled to .

With the zalman VF700 (I had this one on my previous vid card, x800 serie) , you just get some coolblocks for your memory, but those don't do much.
Also the zalman produces more noise then de nv silencer . I don't know what reviews say, but In my case the vf700 produced more noise then the nv silencer that I have now.

another nice advantage of the nv silencer is tha fact it blows the air straight out of your case, meaning the heat of your vid card will never be able to effect other components in your case and will never raise the temp of the case.

The nv silencer is bigger in lenght, but not in hight, both are dual slot solutions.

FYI, I run my 7800GTX at 490/1350 without any problems and stressed the temps never go over 45 degrees.

you need the NV silencer 5 rev 3 , the rev 2 is not compatible with the 7800 series .

If I don't forget,I will post a picture of my PC here tomorow (I am not at home at this moment) .

Zalman is better for cooling, but the zalman has a problem of choking on its own air.

Artic silencer is OK, and takes up too much room. But exhausts hot air out of the case.

i can't officially speak about the new nvsilencer that was revised for the 7800gtx, however, based on the nv silencer i had with my 6800gt, i can tell you that it does not perform NEARLY as well as the zalman vf-700c (i believe, go to zalman.co.kr to doublecheck).

if you get the zalman, howerver, invest in the ocz ram coolers. they are copper coolers for ram. they are better thant eh ones that come with the zalman.

with my 7800gtx at 500/1350, running with a bit of a voltage increase, i idle at 41ish, and load at around 58-62c.

Look guys, I had both coolers, I had the zalman VF700cu and now using the nv silencer , the nv silencer is better and more silend, simple as that.

Also with a 7800GTX you must cool your memory good, wich the nv silencer does and the zalman doesn't .

The Zalman Fatal1ty FS-V7 is a nice piece of technique too. It will cool your GPU much better than anything on the market likely. Though it costs quite some and a Artic would do to much worse and that being a lot cheaper.
