I bought a x-Fi platnium, seems like after iinstalled it and turn the sound to Ultra high, the game slows down, isnt it suppose to increase the frame rate?

Install the latest drivers. This is a common issue unfortunately.

The FPS increase is only from the top two models with the X-Ram technically.

And actually the FPS increase is only if you're going from on-board sound to an X-Fi card

But, yes...once games start supporting the X-RAM, that may give an FPS boost as well for those cards that have X-RAM.

Battlefield 2 shows no boost with Xram on the Xfi cards. I run it on high quality.
