Ok I know this is a really ""crappy" PC its still dose a good job at running BF2 on low settings without any lag...,but what needs to be done to get BF2 running alteast at all medium settings? What exactly should be upgraded? I just want it to run at medium settings.

Everything needs upgrading, sorry. The processor couldn't handle medium, nor could the ram or video card.

I was looking at a

Chaintech VNF4 nForce4 Socket 939 ATX Motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.40GHz Processor

eVGA GeForce 7800 GT 256MB PCIe Video Card w/ Free eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Motherboard.

I need something that will run BF2 atleast at medium settings with no lag.

eVGA GeForce 7800 GT 256MB PCIe Video Card w/ Free eVGA 133-K8-NF41 Motherboard.

If you just want to run medium settings, this is kind of overkill.

You can keep the motherboard, but you can settle with a Athlon 64 3000+ for the CPU. For the video card, you can get a 6600GT.

Go to www.newegg.com, www.tigerdirect.com, or www.zipzoomfly.com. Piece together all the most expensive pieces you can afford and build it yourself. Go to www.alienware.com, www.monarchcomputer.com, www.frozencpu.com and see what there machines have in them and go from there.

hook your-self up with a PC that will run BF2 and other games on the highest settings

lol I am glad and surprised that it did, it also runs Neef For Speed: Most Wanted at medium settings+ Age Of Empires 3 at medium settings with no lag.

Oh haha, what i meant when i said 'you can keep the same motherboard,' i meant you can stay with the one u picked out (the chaintech NF4). For the CPU, like i said, the 64 3000+ will perform over and beyond medium settings when coupled with 1 GB of ram, and a strong video card like the 6600GT.

well if ur gonna upgrade now get something that will be futureproof even it takes a bit more spending. i wuld look at maybe if u can a dual core amd and an sli board with a 7800gt. u wont be upgrading for a long time and when u need to just pop in another 7800gt.

Thats NOTHING. I can run BF2 lag-free on low settings with;

Intel Pentium III 1.0Ghz Processor.
383MB Generic RAM.
eVGA GeForce FX5200.

And it ran it well :)
