Adding New HD

I bought a new HD and is coming today, i already have the original one with windows and everything, all i want to do is have and additional, i know all the hadware parts and hook up, but is there anything sofware wise i need to do, in order for it to work.
I remember when i had windows installed that windows had to prepare the HD! Help guys, thanks in advance.

Right click on my computer go to manage, then disk managment, you may need to create a partition.

Also if i install BF2 on the new HD will it performed better, meaning faster load time, and that kind of stuff since is not on the same one with Windows??? Thanks

No it wont, when I had windows on my Maxtor and BF2 on my Raptor it was slower than now.Now I have BF2 on the same Raptor as Windows and it is a little faster.
