In order to change the proccessor of your comp do you have to change anything else in the comps hardware or can you just buy the proccessor without changing anything? sorry for the noob question

by the way the change would be from an intel to an athlon proccessor if that matters.

You will need a new mobo if going from Intel to AMD.
