Re: Anyone have a similar setup?
cool cool 1.5 and a 6600Gt is all good. But with today's technology why not just go with 2 gb and a 6800gt. That's what I have and this computer OWNS!!!!!! It really does it's nice -

Re: Anyone have a similar setup?
You shouldn't have any worries with that rig, though don't expect all High w/ 4xAA etc. Keep Dynamic Options to low and no AA and you can expect 60 - 99FPS all day long. That's how I have my settings, and my rig is alittle better than yours.Originally posted by FusioN[90thSFG]

Re: Anyone have a similar setup?
I have the same setup, just with a AGP 6600GT 128mb. It'll be fine @ medium. Hell, I run BF2 @ 1280x1024, medium settings (except shadows off, yeah i'm a freak), 2xAA, 100% viewing distance.
If you got a good AMD64, then you'll get more FPS than me =). In other games, it'll be nice.
1.5gb is sometimes only possible with certain configs...or money is an issue.Comment

Re: Anyone have a similar setup?
AGHHH it changed a tad.. I dunno what the guy making it was thinking, but is this true that if it was just a 6600 128 and 1 gb ram it wouldn't make much of a difference? Would I still be able to play all med at least?Comment

Re: Anyone have a similar setup?
I have a suggestion, don't get the 6600GT and try to get the extra money and buy a 6800GS. Then u can run BF2 on all high.Comment

Re: Anyone have a similar setup?
Ok, well, is it possible that u could ask them to get the 6800GS instead of the 6600GT at all? Cause then u'll be playing on all high, and u don't have to spend extra money and buy a 6800GS urself.Originally posted by FusioN[90thSFG]Someone is buying it for meComment

I have a very similiar setup...
P4 3ghz
1gig ram
6600gt
Im running 1024x768 AAx2 with high (except for lighting at medium)
I only have the demo right now, but Im getting about 50fps average and its very playable, and looks great too.

Do you think if I got a plain 6600 instead that it would make a big difference?Originally posted by ToastyToastI have a very similiar setup...

Nahh the system is expensive enough, I think I may just get a 6800gt for my bday.Originally posted by Eddy01741Ok, well, is it possible that u could ask them to get the 6800GS instead of the 6600GT at all? Re: Anyone have a similar setup?
Um, if u got a plain 6600 it wouldn't make TOO much of a differnce, but still a dfference. Anyways, don't get teh 6800GT, the 6800GS is newer, cheaper, and better: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...ce-6800gs.htmlOriginally posted by FusioN[90thSFG]Do you think if I got a plain 6600 instead that it would make a big difference?

Look at the benchmarks, compare the 6800GT and the 6800GS in benchmarks. THe 6800GS is only 200 bucks y'know.
