    Re: New Parts

You can even drop it lower by getting a 3800+ X2 instead of the 4200+, the extra $$ isn't really worth it too much since you could overclock the 3800+.

          Hi there,

everything looks good, but i wouldn't touch that MSi board with a barge pole! i have a gigabyte one and it is much more reliable!

            Re: New Parts

I've got a 4400+ running at 2.8. I think it's worth it. Unless you get a new X-Fi sound card, it's really not worth upgrading. The mobo onboard sound is plenty. Don't worry about a performance hit with either of those 2 cpus.

Gigabyte boards are a total pos, the msi one is an excellent choice, so I'd go with #1.

                    Re: New Parts

Skip them both go with a DFI board. Myself I prefer DFI and Abit's uGuru series.

Spift get atleast an Audigy2 ZS, if you can afford it get an X-fi FPS Fatal1ty or the Xtreme Music version (the FPS if you can). The sound clarity is much better on the X-fi cards compared to onboard. My friend came over and he has a much nicer everything in his machine but I have the sound card and he sat down and played for a few minutes and when "Holy ****! The guns actually sound real on this thing!"
