I going to be getting a computer for christmas and have been researching everything but im still lost it would be really nice if someone could put one together with newegg links to the products
it needs to be..
amd
any 6600 or above card(does not have to be nvidia just something equal too or above the 6600 vannila)
pci-e
80gb hd
LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 52X CD-R 32X CD-RW 52X CD-ROM 1.5M Cache IDE Combo Drive
good enough to play bf2 on medium setting
oh and needs to be below $575 (yes i know its a low budget but i have other things on my wish list too)

All in all alittle over what you want ($623 - 640ish[Shipping cost included in that second price roughly]) I dont know if you need a new case what or not, but that is without one assuming you have one and mouse and keyboard, but those are anywere. I dont know what you have for a processor, maybe you dont need that, but that set up should do. I had something similar to that, and it ran BF2 on medium, except I had a 9600XT for a video card. I dont know what your psu is right now, so I kinda left that out seeing its alittle over the price you set. but if you need one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153026 should work well with all that. but that would add another $58 to that estimate.

good find that ram is DDR2 and ur mobo is ddr. u have to change that around.

If this is build from the bottom up, he'll need an OS. Windows Home is around $80. I don't know why everyone keeps forgetting that.

Because you don't necessarily have to pay for it. You can either transfer it from your old computer, or find other means.

Most people already have an os, or if they don't, they don't ask us to include it, they just want hardware advice.

Call M$ and ask them to help you, and they will retrieve the Key and allow it to be reregister, i think not sure thought.

Take you windows cd, put it in the computer you wish to install it on, follow the directions it gives you, then enter your keycode.

No cd I've ever gotten with a prebuilt had an entire Windows setup on it. It was just a repair cd.

OEM Windows CDs aren't hard to get a hold of.
