Ever happened to you???

My computer wouldn't boot after I installed 2 more rams to 2 gigs and the boot.ini files became corrupt! I lost everything. I tried everything from using the Windows System disk - the program couldn't repair the harddrive or even copy files into the WINNT directory because I kept getting "Access Denied" message.

Even tried putting my hard drive into a friends computer - couldn't recover any doc or outlook files. I got so fed up I just reformatted the harddrive partition.

Oh well - just venting! :cry:

Thank God I have a backup laptop in case of situations like these - but couldn't recover everything.

I had a bad mobo once that sometimes would not boot in the morning and I had to reinstall win xp every 3 days!

Yes it does but I got a new mobo now! Funny how it was only in the morning lol

It's happened to quite a few people that I know. I've always been the one who has to fix it though.

I'm still recovering - trying to install and reinstall all the drivers and applications. Everything seems to go fine and now my network card doesn't connect! WTF???

Motherboard lan drivers is what you need.

why turn it off then? Leave it running, then you won't have a problem booting it. LOL, unless it causes it to shut off as well. Randomly restarting or dieing.
