So this is my new rig...

    Ok guys/gals,
After spending numerous hours in this forum (and other forums), I've comprised my list on a new rig. So far, I've purchased a couple items already by a month to month basis and here's what I have: Tt Armor Case, OCZ PowerStream 600W PS, DFI LanParty SLI-DR, SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Sound Card, (2)WD Raptor 74GB (will be use for OS, programs, etc., in RAID0), (2)WD 320GB 3.0GB/s 16MB cache (will be used for storage, i.e. games).

As of yesterday, I thought it was a good idea to open a Newegg Account. After all, $0 till July2006 So once I did that, I ordered this: AMD Opteron 175, 2x1GB G.Skill Extreme Series DDR500, Logitech G-15 keyboard, Logitech G5 mouse, (2) eVGA 256-P2-N527 GeForce 7800GTX 256MB (512 MB edition out of supply and can't wait). All I need now is a pair of DVD burners but the one I was looking at (Lite-On) is out of stock. Anyone know any quiet brand of burners? Also, I just need feedback on whether this is a good setup or if I should've changed anything (besides the videocard). Thanks!

Thats a super setup. Although I would of got a 7800GTX 512mb . I still am dwarfed by the specs! But as you said, no chance in changing that now!

See if you can purchase a opteron 170, they overclock good and are cheaper.

RAM is fine, but I dont like Thermaltake cases. I would of gone for a CM STACKER or Lian Li myself. But its more of a personal affair .

Good luck with your new system.

It came up to around $3000, but it didn't seem alot because I spreaded each part by paycheck

I will consider upgrading to the 512MB version later and will put the 256MB in my the rig I'm using now.

They're a little pricey in Newegg though huh?
