Those timings are at 400mhz. That ram he's looking at is DDR500.Originally posted by bigpappaget OCZ it pwns...2-3-2-5
The 2-3-2-5 OCZ uses the same IC and PCB as the G.skill 2-3-2-5, but the G.skill is cheaper. The OCZ PC4000 of the same timings are about $50 more than the G.skill.Comment

Obviously it's a good deal, right Wreck? But as far as OC'ing a opty175 that's watercooled, is it a good RAM performance wise?Originally posted by WreckThose timings are at 400mhz. That ram he's looking at is DDR500.

Re: Your thoughts on this RAM....
As far as performance it will match any of your other PC4000 2x1Gb sticks. The only ones that are ahead of the pack are the Crucial ballistix which sometimes reach over 300mhz. If you definetly want DDR500 then get the G.skill DDR500.Originally posted by gsxr310Obviously it's a good deal, right Wreck? I got lucky and got some DDR400 that do DDR500 speeds.

Re: Your thoughts on this RAM....
OCZ and G-skill use the same exact memory modules, I believe Crucial is the only company that uses their own. Either one you get, you are basically getting the same product. G-skill are just as good as any other more popular companies, I paid almost 100 more for my PC4000 sticks, I say go with it, if you're gonna OC.Comment
