Hey people :) My friend is selling me a new x850xt for $200 but is it worth it? going from a x800xl?

Um, i would say it's worth it. BUt IF (that's a BIG if) you could spare 100 bucks, you could get the 7800GT, which is much better.

yeah but then I have to buy a PCI-e and I just got a new agp mobo that I like a ot :hmm: I forgot to say i'm shipping out in a month so is it really much better than the x800xl? If i'm just gona get a extra 10fps then I don't know....

What do you mean when u say "shipping out in a month" ??? Does that mean you're moving or something?

In that case, DON"T go buy it, it's about at most 15fps difference, not worth it if you're only gonna have it for a month.

So you got tired of fake killin eh? I have the X850XT and it's debateable whether the 7800 is better than the X850XT. Both sides will argue that theirs is better. Before anyone goes off on a tangent yet again, I actually plan on going nVidia on my next rig. That said... yes it's worth it. How old is it? Is it a PE? Who makes it? My X850XT cost $420 a couple of months ago. If nothing else, you could easily turn it at a profit as long as it's in perfect shape. I certinally wouldn't sell mine for that little.

Good luck in the Navy. You going to be stationed in Kuwait? I have respect for anyone in any service, but I'm afraid for ya buddy. At least you're not going in the Army. Hopefully the only killiing you see or have to do is in BF2...

No it's not, the 7800gt or gtx (256 or 512 version) will absolutley destroy anything ati makes below the x1800xl.

That's why it's called "debatable". The specs are almost identical. However, the 512 is obviously better. I'm talking about the 256.

I don't think i'm gona do any killing but I am gona try out for EOD , If I don't make i'm sure my ordnance is gona kill someone:|: On topic...I might get it,$200 ain't so bad, it's new in the box but my x800xl will just be added to my big box where I have all my unused videocards ( like 7 )
