    Will my computer run BF2?

Hey guys, new to the forums, but I hope to become a pretty regular member shortly. I've actually got two questions for you computer buffs out there.

Question 1: Will my computer run BF2?

I'm running a pretty old computer, so don't laugh, I'll have a new one in about a month or so. I'm running on XP Home, but have Whitebox installed on a slave drive.

    - Intel P2 1.8 Gig
    - 512 Megs DDR Ram
    - 256 Meg Nvidia 5200 ( I realize that BF2 doesn't support this, but I've seen some people on this site using this card so I figured I could get a driver or something that will allow me to use this card rather than dish out 300 bucks to get a new one.
    - Nothing else really matters other than FSB speed but I don't know that off hand, it's about a 4 year old computer, so just use your imagination on that spec

Edit: BTW!! - I have no problems at all running BF1942 Desert Combat or Splinter Cell, or Ghost Recon, or Rainbow 6. All these games are very smooth on this computer. (not sure if that info helps at all)

Here's my second question: Which computer would you get?
    Computer 1:
    2.4 Gig AMD 3700 64 Bit processor
    800 Meg FSB
1024 Overclocked DDR (not sure how it's overclocked, thats just how it's marketed

    Computer 2:
    3.1 Gig P4 32 Bit processor
    800 Meg FSB
    1024 Overclocked DDR

I'd be using my 256 Nvidia 5200 for both computers and they are both barebones kits.

The second computer is cheaper by about 50 dollars (not a big deal). I've heard the AMD is faster when it comes to running single apps (good for gamers, which I am) but the P4 is better for multitasking (I program websites so when I'm not gaming I usually have Photoshop, Macromedia dreamweaver, and Macromedia Flash MX open).

What would you guys do in my situation? I'm sort of leaning towards the AMD as it's 64 bit and better for gamers, which is my main concern. Although mutitasking would be nice, I could live without it.

Thanks for any replies guys, and I hope to see you on the battlefield soon.

Get the amd one, but that card is pathetic, so it's gonna look extremely crappy.

Err i played on a 5200 and got all low and medium textures. But then again i had a 3.0 ghz processor and 1 gig (512mb x 2) of ram i was playing on.

You're going to have a hard time playing.
