7800GTX Sli or 512mb GTX?

Ok, just had word from the person i'm buying a computer off. They don't have a 512mb 7800gtx in stock until 1 month after christmas :cry: . However they are willing to replace the 512mb with 2 7800gtx 256mb's.

So my question, is 1 512mb card better than 2 7800gtx 256mb cards in SLi, which would be the better option?

I would go with the one 7800 512. if you mobo is SLI then you can upgrade to another 512 later.

2x 7800GTX 256 will have around twice as much FPS as 1x 7800GTX 512MB. Though if you think of the future, you can buy another 7800GTX 512 and will be settled for another 1,5 year gaming. And 1x 7800GTX 512MB for now will give
enough FPS to run most games on high.

OK, considering i'm 13, there's no apparant way I could pull £560 out of my pocket (probably less by then) to upgrade. So now what do you think is the sensible option (the upgrade to the two cards is free).

lol, are you guys kidding? Go for the two, sell them both on ebay and buy one 512 and make a profit if you really want the 512mb one, although SLI will perform better...And goodluck trying to SLI with these ****ers without running into heat problems:

SLI = good if the game takes advantage and you got the cooling. I heard a single 7800GTX 512mb edition is a good buy, though a better argument is 2x 7800GT's for the same price...
