    Dual Geforce 6800's?

Hey guys, Thanks in advance for helping me out! Ok, I was thinking, since I allready have a 6800GT why not instead of buying a 7800gtx, why not just get a SLI mobo and then get another 6800 gt. I looked at benchmarks and saw that 2x 6800gt's stick up there with one 7800gtx. Do you guys think it's worth it or what? On ebay I could probably pick up another 6800 for a little over $200 and a SLI mobo for $125. My processor's only,a 3000+ venice (Great Overclocker!) do you think it would bottleneck too much? Thanks again.

Whats your 3000+ at, if OCed?

2x 6800GT's can stack up to a 7800GTXs in a sense. But, if you can, sell the 6800GT, grab a 7800GT (been selling for 325-375 USD at some places lately!) and SLI that if you can!

Yeah I'd SLI the 6800gt's so if one poops out u ahve another and if you happen to win the lotto in a few months you can be SLI ready and throw in 2 7800gtx's! Oh, and if you happen to win the lotto, buy me a computer or send me like $2,500 U.S. dollars :).

2 x 6800GTs would indeed be good, but I don't think its worth it now. Definately go with the 7800GT, its $309 on Newegg.com for the eVGA one. Theres one thats $270 after mail-in rebate I think.

Anyways, you should definately sell the 6800GT on eBay for like $250 or so and get a 7800GT. It'll be the performance of SLI'd 6800GTs probably. Not to mention it'll last longer and you could add another one if needed.

BTW, an overclocked 3000+ will NEVER bottleneck ANY videocard. People don't give the processor enough cred. Its extremely powerful for what it has to do. And the 3000+ is excellent as it is.
