    Ram

I currently have a new Gateway pci express computer with Pent 4 processor 3.2GHZ.. I have 2gigs of standard ram (4x512). What improvement would I see if I converted to the low latency high speed stuff how much and what brand and type would you recommend.

      Re: Ram

stick with the two gigs, if you do anything get a new graphics card, if that is the Gateway that is a Pentium D w/2 gigs, get a 7800GT or above (X1800 XL or above for ATI).

        Re: Ram

Instead of spending money upgrading that, save up and build a custom computer. Gateways and Dells are hard to upgrade sometimes.

Unless you wanna oc, there will be NO appreciable difference between the gaming and value ram, just save your money.

lol ok well I still need to upgrade since one of my RAM sticks is phucked up, I might as well go DDR400 since I have DDR333 this is "OK" right?

it's cheap IMO, value RAM would be around the same price.

                    Re: Ram

Faster ram or tighter timings will show no improvment in games. If you just game and are not a serious overclocker then stick with a good brand of value ram.
