probably because its only 18 degress in the room

should i lower the core shutdown threshold its at 115 degress now

wouldnt it of burned up before then? could boil an egg at that tempreature

Your Core temps are fine. If you moved that memory clock up to 1200 like me your temp would rise about 15 degrees Celcius. I run mine at 475/1200 at 48 idle, high sixty's at full load. If I were you, move your core clock a bit down and move your memory clock up to 1200 for better proformace.

im happy as it is for now i can max out any game i have at 1280x960

maybe when i get a nv5 cooler or a zalman gpu cooler i will try to get the mem to 1200 which one is better arcitic cooling or zalman cooling?

I wouldn't really worry about underclocking the card or anything... the cards are tested to work up to 115C, but I would only be worried if your load is over 85-90 area, in which case it's just irregularly hot. Remember if you want to lower your temps, don't just look at the card, make sure your case fans are good and you have as many as possible. Good airflow inside the case is better than buying a huge NV5 for your card (not saying u shouldnt get one).

its in a thermaltake, kandalf, 1x120mm front, 1x120mm and 1x80mm near psu, 1x80mm top, loads of room inside not the best cable hiding but this is my build

Yeah, kandalf has great airflow, although thermaltake stock fans are very weak... but they are quiet. When I got a high flow thermaltake fan for my old rig, it was very loud at full speed, but it reduced my cpu and vid card temps by 7C. My friend on the other hand got a NV5 for his 6800gt and it only reduced his temps by about 4C.

I would of went for the NV5 since it's silent but I already had a great heatsink on my 6800 and my case exhaust fan was 80mm while i could fit a 120 there, so I decided to replace it. Anyways, I'm just saying that getting good airflow exhause fans for a case make as big of a diference as buying new heatsinks.
