From a gamer's perspective (Stupid question)

Alright, I know I should make my own decisions, but eh...

Right now I have a Microsoft Intellimouse explorer, it's wireless and very ergonomic. It's only 400DPI, and now that I've used better mice I feel the need to change. I'm not really considering the MX518 as I want to spend a little more money. My main considerations at the moment are the G5, MX1000, and Razer Copperhead(more expensive). I'm a big gamer, and my current obsession is BF2. I have my assault rifle binded to the back button and defribulators binded to the foward button. My main gripe about the G5 is it only has one side button. I'm not used to using the scroll wheel button on my current mouse because it's difficult and as you may know it doesn't have definate stopping points, so I have never alternated weapons with it. The MX1000 has buttons galore, so I'm looking at that, but that's 800DPI and is rather old. The copperhead is the king of all mice, but it has a hefty price tag of around $70, while the other two are going to be around $55. I'm also going to buy the new func F-series pad, but that's not going to change no matter what mouse I get.

Would the addition of a functional scroll wheel on the G5 be a good substitute for my other side button that I will be missing?

I dunno about the 800DPI for the MX1000, but its much more accurate than any optical mouse out there. The MX518 is an excellent mouse, despite its price tag. Don't get the G5. Its a MX1000 with less buttons, basically, lol.

I say go with the MX1000 if you WANT to spend more money (which I don't really get).

I have the MX1000 and I love it, super sensitive, very nice. I believe the DPI is like 1000 or more.

It's 800dpi. It's actually the same mouse engine that's in the MX510, it just uses a laser rather than an LED.

G5's fine if you know how to bind stuff right and being 1 button less. I personally like the feel of it more.

MX1000's are laser mouses...800 DPI yes but very damn accurate.

What they say^ I have a MX1000 also. It's pretty nice that the battery will last a few days while playing lots and lots of BF2 with no recharging in between.
