Video Card Help/Advice

Hey guys i just ordered a whole new system just for this game, but i need help deciding on a video card. I am probably going to get an X700 PRO from circuit city, but it's an AGP. I was wondering if that would be good and work. I was also wondering if you guys could please rank these video cards in order of excellent to poor...

GeForce 6600 (PCIe)

And also what would be better to get, A GeForce 6800 or a ATI Radeon 9800 PRO???
AND ALSO.. my mobo is an AGP 8x too. IF you guys could help me out with this i would very much appreciate it.. thank you

The best to get would be a Radeon x850xt Platinum Edition. Its the best agp card available. Thats if you can find somewhere that sells it

nah the 6800Ultra is so much better it has 3.0 shaders that makes all those shadows look better (if your that bothered about it)

If i was you i would stay well clear of ATI my X700 pro was nothing but trouble hence why i bought a 7800GTX.

what was troublesome about it?? i just wnat it to work for a while, then im going to upgrade to either a GeForce 6800 or a ATI Radeon 9800 PRO... which one is better of the two tho?

He said he didn't buy the X700 cause it IS AGP, therefore, he most likely wants a PCI-e card. I've seen the 7800GT at 330 bucks at newegg.com, great deal, i would jump oin it if i had that money.

Eddy he can't go PCI-Express since he has an AGP motherboard.

I have the X850XT PE on PCI-Express and I have had no troubles. I also have had a 9500 Pro as well and no problems.

That list is from the BF2 requirements and its BS.

Personally though, what I would recommend depends on your current rig and how much you're willing to spend. A x700 AGP sounds like 150-250 ish - I say grab either a 6600GT, 6800 NU or if you're lucky to find it under 300, 6800GT; or for a ATI flavor, that x700 is ok, but a x800-series card can be found for cheap as of late online...

3.0 Shaders won't do jack as the havn't been implemented into any games yet...

Half-True. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory has the option on SM-3 cards. Its just kinda slow...=P

I know a few games right now have it (can't remember), but 2006's games will definately have it.

Ok, in that case, yu can get a X850XTPE for around 350 bucks, if you have the money, i would buy it. Also, don't get the X700 series, the 6600GT is better.

Get a 6800GT and overclock it to Ultra speeds.

Or if you want ATI- X800XL.

Yea, those are the most popular mainstream cards for AGP. Both are good.
