All In Wonder X800XT 256mb issues. FPS

This has always been a problem with my BF2 but it started to tick me off a bit seeing people with machines worse than mine performing much better than mine. When playing BF2, i have to set it to the low-medium range (for SF at least). I have everything set to low and off except for Textures and Geometry. Those 2 settings are at high, but in SF, i have to use Medium. The fact that i have to set everything off ticks me off a bit.

my system
intel P4 2.6GHZ processor
1.5gigs of ram
80gb HD
350watt PSU
AIW x800xt 256mb

another thing is, when running at these settings my FPS isnt considered "smooth" either, it averages at 15-20FPS on SF Iron Gator and around 15-30 FPS depending on spots in 64 player servers on regular BF2, SF is worse.

AGP aperture wont increase performance, i have tried it already.

any help?

Looking over your specs. the first thing I think of is the PSU is extremely small for a system that power hungry. A small PSU can prevent the system running at full performance.

Typical driver type issue. Have you recently updated drivers? The only other thing I can think of is another program running in the background using up system resources while your playing.

no, i have tried every obvious fix.

and i have the latest Omega drivers

Well, your spces are enough to run the game fine. The only other thing would be again to state something is eating up system resources. You could possibly be overheating your vid card. Have you checked the fan on the card to make sure its still spinning?

I agree, your PSU needs to be upped. The cards minimum I believe is 350watts, then just add in all the rest of your hardware and its probably pulling a lot of power and stressing the PSU big time.

my 350watt PSU is an antec btw, and i think it could hold up. i always thought that if there was insufficient power, the card wouldnt really function or the comp would have trouble booting up. but im not quite sure

Hi. I have same card AIW x800xt. I run med/high w/2x AA w/out problems, and I have a similar Antec 380W PSU. I think that the AIW is an awesome value, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

lol iron gator is crap for me i use a x800 with 1gig but only a 2.8 ghz processor....

Couple things:

1. GET A NEW PSU, 350 wats bairly supports a gamers computer. I highly recommend OCZ Mod Stream 450 and 520 wat PSU's there top notch
2. Try unistalling and reinstalling BF2
3. Get a program (ATI Tray Tools) and tell me what your core temp is

Do that and report back. I need some more info before I can help, and I would really consider buying a new PSU or risk damaging your computer parts.
