Im not even sure what video card that is..the ram seems too expensive.....and I'd reccomend you get AMD.

Bad bad bad, go amd, ditch that spaceheater they call the pentium d. Go for a x2 or a opteron 165 or 170, with a 6800gs.

x2 3800+, much better, faster, cooler, cheaper

yea no PentiumD. Even intel agreed that it is a bad processor. Maximum PC interviewed some Intel official that said they had to rush Pentium D because AMD was so much further than them in Dual Core Development. In the end now instead of one, you get two crappy CPUs. Get an AMD Athlon64 X2!!!. Then if you do you can get PC3200 DDR 2x1Gig of Corsair XMS low latency ram for $206 :)

See my post above, the highest x2 would be the 4800+, but it costs nearly a grand, so I'd recommend a opteron 175.AMD doesn't support ddr2 yet, it will next year when socket M2 comes out. The 7800gt's should cost about 700 bucks.

Hmm.. I have a 2.0GHz processer now. and the Athlon 64 X2 says its a 2.0ghz, should i just keep my intel i have now? and just save the cash, and dump it into the vid card? im looking to spend around(or less than) 2,000-2,500 bucks.

No, that amd proc at 2ghz would destroy a p4 at 3ghz, so you definately want a new proc.Here's a new list:

AWSOME! Il go with that build minus the psu ( i have a 600w now) and the Hd. i have an old 4 gb one that is dedicated to bf2 so that it doesnt compeet.

Ah, ok il check them, i wont be building till early Jan. il be buying this stuff around Dec 5th or 6th, but il be going out of town on the 9th untill jan 14th. So, i COULD just wait till then, and buy the parts if newegg has them. Neway, that comp will be good and all, but will it work with bf2? cause i know they have some issues about duel/hyperthreading. Id hate to dump 2.5 grand into a comp that cant play the only game i play.

I know this is a dumb question, but il regreit not asking it... It usues a dvi port or s-video for out-put. Will a standard LCD moniter work? or am i going to have to get a special one to accept the s-video or Digital Video? cause i see the price tag no jumping to like... 3 grand...

Yes, your lcd monitor should have either a dvi or vga input, the graphics card supports both.

Nvm... My NEW(3 month old) LCD doesnt have a DVI port... but luckly i found a 17inch one for 300 bucks... I guess il get that and use my other LCD as an expensive target to try my Remington700 on.....
