lag prob...it really killing me...plz help

i lag since ive done 2 things
1-- ive convert my E: in NTFS (my BF2 game was installed on that partition) ..ive read on NTFS.com that the convertion afect nothing who is already installed
2--I have installed FEAR...and at the end of the installation..it ask me to install the latest directx(if u check no..the installation abort)
those 2 thing(convert and latest directx) ive done them the same day..so im sure its one of them lol)
those 2 thing ive done(convertion and installing the new directx..i know FEAR have nothing to do whit my prob) have result in a heavy lag in BF2 ..before ive done that..i was running the game perfectly whit my 6600GT(40-60FPS all at medium x2AA) and now i have a new card 6800Ultra 256(to try to solve this sh!t) the lag still the same..even if i lower my video setting..its still laggy..i lag when its loaded of action..and in some maps..like in karkand in some streets my fps drop..so damn weird...like i said before it was running so smooth before that(before the convert and directx install)..action or not..in all the maps everything was cool..ive tried to reinstall the game on my C: who is in FAT32(no good result) tried to reinstall the latest directx(no good result).. tried to install new drivers(...no good result..im using 81.85..ive tried the latest ones..) my cpu is clean/defrag/scan ..im lost...confused..and so damn ****ed off
ive run 3dMark2005 just to see if there a prob whit something.. it result in a 5400 scores..so..WTFFFF
any suggestion..
