    DDR or SDRAM?

What are you currently using? As of right now, I still have the same old mother board with 2 DDR slots and 2 SDRAM. Unfortunately, my Mother board can only handle 1.5 Gigs.

    Anyways, I'm using SDRAM.

    Re: DDR or SDRAM?

Yow, I upgraded to DDR almost as soon as it came out. I didn't know that anyone still used the stuff.

hehe, talking about old RAM reminds me... I've got a necklace with two 1mb sticks of RAM from a 386.

As far as I know (not much ) DDR3 is the best.

well SDR is more expensive and slower... so err.. you choose?

My motherboard can't use the other 1.5 Gigs because my DDR slots are ****ed up.

Well, yeah, but I'm willing to bet that most people who have posted in this thread knew that, maybe even the topic starter. DDR is typically referred to as just plain DDR though, instead of DDR SDRam to save time/space/keep it simple.

Dell i stsill using SDRAM on their base computers, which supprised me.. but then i guess.. its prob just so they can make more money... somehow or another.

Yeah, SDRAM and DDR are the same thing. Unless you mean ddr2 and sdram, as ddr2 is only for intel.

what are you talking about. unless you mean ddr-sdram, sdram is not ddr ram.

ddr ram has TWICE the bandwidth, transfer / data rates, of sdram!

                            SDRAM vs. DDR SDRAM

                              Re: DDR or SDRAM?

You guys are confused or just don't know what you are talking about. All DDR is SDRAM. It's a type of SDRAM. SDR SDRAM is single data rate, while DDR SDRAM is double data rate. The three types of SDRAM used for desktops today.

                              SDR
                              DDR
                              DDR2

This poll is confusing at best as it asks if you use SDRAM or a specific type of SDRAM. The answer would be yes to both if you use DDR of any type. The poll is flawed and misinformed.
