hi,
I'm going to be purchasing a 64bit system this week, and have my eye on a 3800x2 processor and either an Asus A8N SLI Deluxe or Abit Fatal1ty AN8-SLI motherboard.
While scanning the net for reviews etc, the Asus board seems to be excellent. However, i've also stumbled upon quite a few horror stories relating to failing chipset fans and general instability. The Abit Fatal1ty AN8-SLI gets good reviews also, but has less features and is more suited to overclocking.
Generally i want this pc to work well out of the box, i'll be sticking in 2gb of memory and a Geforce 6800 Ultra Pci-e. I'm not sure i want to be overclocking, i've never done it before and i dont really feel the need. As for gaming, all i need to do really is play BF2, so its a must that it plays that properly!
Does anyone have any advice on which board to go for? Had problems with either board? I've read some stuff about BF2 not working right with asus boards, mainly while flying vehicles? any info appreciated [
