Video Card/SLI Question

If I were to buy this card,

Its a 7800GT PCI-Express SLI
Questions
1) Do I need an SLI motherboard or will it work on any motherboard?
(Exm: Will it run on this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...BM-K8V-A643700
2) Do I need another 7800 GT SLI for it to work, or will I be able to run it alone?
3) Is that a good price?

1. It will work in any mobo that has a PCIe slot, not agp.No, it won't work in that mobo, besides, I'd go for a socket 939 mobo.
2. No, it will run fine alone.
3. That seems to be an okay price, but I'd watch out for that mail-in rebate.

That would be a fine setup, and yes, as long as the socket is the same, I don't see why there would be a problem.
Note:By sli, do you mean you're gonna get two gt's?

Cause you said sli, and that almost always means two cards.

Edit: for sli, I'd recommend this mobo:

Just make sure that the mobo has a nforce 4 chipset and that it has 2 pcie x16 slots.

No I want one card for now. Cant afford two.
If I got a non-SLI 7800 GT and a regular AMD mobo (socket 939) would it be cheaper then getting Sli 7800 GT and sli Mobo?

Also, please stop saying 7800gt sli, because most people will assume that that means two cards. There is no 7800gt that is not sli capable.

The first one has a heatpipe cooling system, the second has a fan. The first one's pcie slots are true x16 when both are used, while the second one drops down to x8. At this point there really is no difference, except the first one looks better and might be quieter.
