At this point, try to install on that 10 gig drive, hook up your other drive as a slave, and try to copy all your important data over before you reformat and do a fresh install on the fubar'd drive.

You're lucky, last week I ignored this warning on a psu I was using on a diff comp, the mobo said it was putting out 17v on the 12v rail, plugged in a hd, and within seconds it was glowing red and smoke started pouring out. That was fun, I'm just glad it wasn't my comp, and that the hd was expendable.

I almost hate to say this, but I guess I will anyway: Is your data that important to you? It might just be easier to wipe the original drive and start fresh.

i unpluged my sata hd, pluged the old IDE and installed win, didnt load to win at all, so i put it back into my other comp, and did the same

                    i just flashed my bios

I'm gonna go off now, and I'll sleep on this problem, hopefully someone else here can be more helpful than I was. :p

i tried again my other working HD and it didnt work, put it back on my other machine and it wouldnt detect it, so im reapring windows on that one

on mine, i was able to choose the repair option, hopefuly this works

Well, I like to use spybot, but for you, I'd try cleaning it one more time, and if it doesn't work, then repair install again, burn your most important data on to a disk, and wipe the drive.
